So soon after our last delay, now we are having computer problems. Add together a cat, a glass of water and a keyboard and you end with a keyboard with only half the keys working. Until we get a new keyboard updates may be a bit random as we wait for access to a public computer.

Reviews on Wednesday and Friday this week

Was busy doing some volunteer work in the first half of the week, so the reviews are going to slide to a little bit later in the week as a result.

Behold, another holiday on a post day. Miranda and I will be recovering from... something (haven't worked out the fine details yet) so there will be no posting.

Christmas Break

Miranda and I will be traveling for Christmas, reassuring our respective families that anime and manga have not completely taken over our lives, so posting would bust our cover stories. Regular reviews and posting will resume on Dec. 30th!

500 manga volumes!

With today's review, we at Prospero's Manga have reviewed 500 manga volumes. Now, some reviews have dealt with multiple volumes, so that is why we have yet to hit 500 reviews, but it still a lot of reading and reviews!

Update to Blog Frequency

As one can imagine, things are tough all over, and the number of review copies I have been receiving have been dipping. I cannot afford to purchase that much new manga out of pocket, so for the time being Prospero's Manga will be dropping to 2 reviews a week, posted on Tuesday and Thursday. Sorry about this!

New York Comic Con delays

This weekend is New York Comic Con, the show two years ago where in the midst of discussing manga, it was said Miranda and I should start a manga review blog.

So we have to return, if for no other reason to hunt down those folks that gave us that suggestion and 'thank' them.

With that said, we will be gone to the con Friday thru early Monday morning, so we posted a review today for tomorrow, and we may be late in posting on Monday.

Label Update

We've found out that we are tripping some filters by even having a category named porn. Attempting to get those filters to realize that we are not publishing the porn has led us on a merry chase without much success.

So, we have renamed the category as 'Explicit.'

Hopefully that clever ruse will let the filters realize we are not Hustler or Icarus Publishing for that matter.

Blogging frequency update

Right now I am looking at my stack of manga to be reviewed and I am completely uninspired. I am worried that I may be little my ennui affect my reviews, so for the time being I am going to pull back to three reviews a week, MWF to combat that. Hopefully I will get exicited about titles again in a few weeks.

Blog Update

Ferdinand (me, in other words) has just now signed a contract with TokyoPop to provide a pilot manga for them. This presents a Conflict of Interest on my part with TokyoPop, but since TokyoPop puts out a sizeable chunk of the new titles, it will be hard to for me to stop reviewing all of them. I can tell you my reviewing style won't change, and I will try as much as possible to push reviewing TokyoPop titles off to Miranda. In the cases in which I can't, I will remind people in the review about my Conflict of Interest.

Viz Anime at Amazon Unbox

As you can see on Prospero's Manga, we do refer people to Amazon.com for merchendise, simply because everyone has used them at one time or another. When you go through those referrals, Prospero's Manga receives a small royalty, which is the only way the blog can help pay for itself.
